djmtsu will become famous soon enough
Talking 1984 Grey Ghost- Boosted 12a

aka the Gay Goose (apparently).

Might as well start a build thread for my latest project.

1984 Mazda RX-7 GS

I picked this up for a couple hundred bucks back in February (I think). Originally I had plans to just strip down the 12a, use a Holley carb and RB exhaust, upgrade the ignition and then focus on paint and handling. Now things are getting out of control.

Up until now I have-
-installed an LSD/Disc rear end
-bought new OEM interior bits
-bought used interior bits
-stripped emissions
-installed a wheel stud kit
-installed 15" BBS wheels
-RB lowering springs
-bought RB muffler
-traded for an RB intake and Holley carb (FOR SALE!!)
-got FC coil
-bought MSD 6AL
-bought Holley Blue fuel pump and FPR
-got an FC oil cooler
-bought RE-Speed filter pedestal

After driving it around a few times, I had forgotten how tragically slow a stock 12a is. So I am boosting the 12a.

I have many of the necessary parts I need already, and have ordered some of the stuff I need for the conversion.
-bought 12a exhaust flange
-bought 13B exhaust flange
-bought S4 turbo

I am still looking for an FMIC kit, BOV, downpipe, and will likely get a carb hat from Rotaryshack, unless Charles can build me one out of a sweet coffee can (no joking).

I found instructions on how to boost prep the Nikki carb. It is getting stripped down to basically nothing, along with the intake manifold. The coolant passages are getting blocked as well.

I will source the oil supply from the RE-Speed pedestal, and drill and tap a return on the front cover.

For coolant, I will use the supply on the rear iron, and tap a return to the lower neck of the water pump housing.

The Holley FPR is surprisingly easy to turn into a rising rate FPR, so I'll take care of that as well. I also need to source a wideband.

This is going to be fun, since I have never seen a blow through 12a rotary (in person, they are all over the place online).

Luckily, I kept all my gauges from my FC, so that will make one less thing to but. I am also considering getting an EGT gauge since this is much different from tuning an ECU.

Thoughts? Prayers?
