welding on a holley

Im trying to figure out if i can do some welding on my holley. I did some searching and i believe the main body to be aluminum. But the goldish color is asome sort of coating. so if i sand away the coating, it should be no problem to do some TIG to the carb...

what im doing is converting the carb into a 4 barrel throttle body. basically removing everything from the carb body until its tore down to nothing. weld up all the holes where the metering plates are and weld close holes where vacuum leaks can occur.

few things im not sure of though.

-how would i go about adding a TPS?
-what else to weld close on the TB besides the fuel holes where the metering plates and fuel bowls covered up?
-any tips for someone who has done this before?
