I am building a FB. It isn't tubbed, but it has a Ford 8.8 rear end that is built. I just transferred the factory mazda 4 link to the rear and made the 4 link and the panhard bars fully adjustable. I have the car done except for the custom wheels for the front. I was going with fender flares, but decided I didn't want to cut on the car.

With the little turbo it made 440 RWHP on the 13bREW that is ported. By far the 1st gen is the best to make into a drag car. They are so cheap! If you take the best parts of each generation, you can make a respectable street car. A few people with these with a stock T2 gear box have went consistant high nines. Thats what is in my plans a high nine second, full interior, working A/C, turnkey driver on pump gas with methenol injection!
