hi
Well I first fell in love with the rotary when I saw the first FD in 93. One of my good friends older brother bought one fresh off the lot and it was pure sex. Prior to falling in love with that model I was always more into BMW's as I owned 5 between the ages of about 16-25.
I put off buying a RX-? for several years as I was focusing on schooling and moving alot and just didn't seem like a good investment at the time (especially trying to keep an FD up). Back in about 2003-2004 I decided I had enough money to get a "toy" and an FD was the "toy" I picked out. Drove it for awhile before the mod bug bit me hard and its been under the knife ever since. I just can't make up my mind on where I wanted to take it. I had an A-spec gt500r single setup for it with lots of support stuff, burnout body kit, on and on. Long story short some things fell through with the guy that I was going to use for paint and body and while starring at the engine and turbo sitting in a spare bedroom I made the decision that I was going to take it 20B. Sooooo started parting it out and selling everything off that I didn't need and now I'm back to collecting parts again. Currently I have a set of Work Wheels on order and due to the aggressive size and tires I want to run (18X10 +29 fronts with 285 tires, 18X11 +30 with 315 tires rear) I'm waiting for them to come in so I can get the car off to the body shop so they have the wheels to work with and can modify the burnout kit if needed to make them fit. As I was working out budgets and stuff for the 20B I noticed that this was a large undertaking and is going to take a few years to get it completed and I just missed the rotary soooooo few weeks ago I picked up a 40th Anniversary RX-8 as my new daily driver. Could have picked up another FD but being a daily driver its hard to pass up a good warranty plus its a 40th Anni version so my thinking is it will be worth holding onto for the long haul and be part of the collection I'd like to eventually have. (want a RE/PU next) Thats about it for me, I work too much, spend extra time with the wife, and try to fit in time for the car/s and hopefully will get to get in on some meets and events in the future. Definatly looking forward to DGRR this year, seems to be a blowout year on attendence. Jonathan
