Default new mechanic with interest in Rotary

Hello, my name is Ron, I live in north Idaho .

I should introduce myself as a mechanic interested in rotary engine drive systems. I do not have one or any Mazda, yet. I am a retired aircraft A&P licensed general aviation mechanic/electrician, turned experimental test engineer for new aircraft and systems. It has been my intention to build a single wheel rear drive, side by side two seat, three wheel coup similar to the basic form of the old English Morgan. I was intending to use one of my Moto Guzzi big twin motorcycle’s for the drive system. However due to the never ending scullery of fuel costs and big government, I now intend to build a much more economical variation of motorized transportation. A car! One of my design, at my cost, maintaining my independence from palm plating corporations. I hope you, the Gurus of Rotary Power can help guide me with the many questions I have yet to define of the power to weight ratio and economy values I have heard so much about. I admit knowing nothing about them, nor am I sure as of yet what final design it will be. I am looking at combinations from simple mechanical enhancements to the Mazda drive train to fluid dynamics, or electric storage/gas motor variations. Simple mechanics are more comfortable to me, but function and durability to travel independent over longer distances before refueling is required, will be the most desired vehicle. I am looking forward to this project and much more by its end, ya never know what you find when you look where you might not normally look. Thanks for reading, and hope to get involved with and acquainted with the Mazda drive systems. Oh… does one use a CVT type tranny?
