Just over 183,000 on the odometer. Painted 2 owners ago, a pharmacist who kept it in great shape and did a rebuild around 80k. I bought the car two years ago and have been driving it for a year now. When purchased, the motor was pulled to accomodate a JDM swap, but was never done. According to the previous owner, it had lost a coolant seal and would poor coolant any time it was added. Put the engine in the back of the truck and towed it home.
Parts it came with - HKS intake, Peter Ferrel Supercars boost gauge, Racing Beat oil cooler lines, Centerforce pressure plate and clutch, and a spare door driver's door handle.
Issues it came with - driver's door handle broken (replaced), randomly ran speaker wires, broken windshield, various dents and dings, reverse lights intermittantly dont work, broken motor mount, damage to LF where it was towed ignorantly and bent the left headlight motor bracket (unbent), left headlight not working (fixed). On a humorous note, the left headlight lifting arm was unattached - this resulted in the left headlight rising up at around 100 mph.
Soon the engine was apart, ported using templates from Pineapple Racing, and rebuilt using a kit for the Rotary Rebuild Store. Emissions removed, OMP blocked off, throttle body modded, engine installed, and it started on the second try. The first time I had put the CAS in 180 out... my bad.
Upgrades purchased - Apexi N1 Evo catback, KSP downpipe (JDM from Japan2LA), TurboXS RFL bov, Racing Beat sway bars with adjustable front endlinks, and extra set of S4 Turbo wheels. Only the downpipe has not been installed as it requires some fabrication to mate with the catback. Recently I have wired a Greddy Emanage Blue into the engine wiring harness, but need to reconfigure it to work with a 5v boost signal as it doen't like the narrow band TPS signal. Currently, the harness for the Emanage is installed but module is not.
Repairs done - all new Mazda intake gaskets (didn't replace on rebuild cause I was in a time crunch, babies will do that), freshly painted new driver's door handle, Mazda clutch hydraulic line, vaccuum caps as they are eaten, and repaired left headlight.
Still has some issues, dents, dings and such. Does smoke a little still, I'll probably leave the OMP on my next S5.
Please feel free to PM me with questions. I work until 6pm or so every weekday, but am available after that.
