Hey Guys thought I'd introduce myself. My names Mike, I've owned my RX7 for I think 3 or 4 years now and I've only driven it once which was around the corner!
Its a 1987 NA Base, MW, ML sunroof model. When I first got it, it had half done 5 lug swap, blown motor, blown fuel pump and improperly done swap resulting in no spark as well. I first swapped the fuel pump for a working one. Connected the ground to the rear rotor housing, finished the 5 lug swap in the rear. After all that the motor kept flooding and I didn't know why. Tried pull starting it to no avail. So I read up how to compression test using a piston tester..I had literally no compression at all on both rotors. I had then parted out (mostly tore apart and stored the parts) an 89 NA installed the tailights on my car. I had then started shopping for a used motor due to money issues.. I ended up buying a whole 88 NA for 300 with a collapsed subframe. I pulled the motor and trans, swapped them into my car. Got it running but it ran like absolute shit and wouldn't start on its own, almost gave up and came close to selling it..Until one day I asked my friend to come over with his spare pump tried it out and boom problem solved. The car still needs a bit of work for safety like the wipers seized and ebrake doesn't work..but there is absolutely no rust underneath only a few spots on the hood and fender from paint chips. Anyway I joined the forum after stumbling upon it from google I believe, and after becoming tired of the noobs, idiots and complete assholes on the "evil forum" I decided to come over here and use these boards more frequently.
