Default Pictures of my broken engine...

Popped the motor last month and finally got around to taking pictures of the damage and figured I would share. I guess I had it coming...motor had 92k miles on it.

Looks like you lucked out though mostly. It was only a small part.

Did it take out anything else like the turbine, etc with it?

Stock seals?

I was sweating the turbo very badly (T04R ball bearing with less than 300 miles on it)...but luckily the apex seal didn't damage it. And yes..stock 3-piece apex seals from 1993.

Do you have better pics of the rotor? Is it salvagable if milled for 3mm seals?

Honestly it looks salvageable from the pics. Its not ideal but looks to bea usuable rotor once it is milled and any high spots are filed down. I just hate to see it thrown away, if you dont want to mess with it I wouldnt mind having it. It is a rotor I could keep for my personal car for later down the road.

Haha, Its not anything I could use in one of the rebuilds I sell but I hate to see engine parts thrown out. It has been unusualy difficult to find rotors and housings the last 2 months.

I've got a bad housing and rotor that will eventually become a clock sitting in my shop.

Since it is being said that it might be salvageable then I will see what I can do to use it. If not then It will be a nice piece in my living room.
