Default Where have all the Spark Plugs gone? ?

Just as the title says. I stopped by Advance Auto last night before work to get some simple tune up parts to ready the car for the gap. My Advance used to stock both NGK 7's & 9's and then eventually made them order items. Now there aren't even enough in any of the warehouses to complete a tune up! Has anyone had this problem at any other auto parts store. It kinda has me freaked out because there is no way in hell I'm purchasing the other option in the computer there, which is a Denso brand plug at $14 each!

IMO
I have switched to O'Rielys.
Advanced sux, usually everything has to be ordered, kinda throws out the whole Advanced slogan.

Im going to check with my local O'Rielys and see if they have them, then I'll know where I'm going for plugs from now on. If not, then it may just be this region that is seein a shortage.

Don't feel bad Zach, Autozone in Memphis says they cant even get spark plugs for a 12a I went to Napa and they had like 12 plugs in stock. I generally dislike O'reilly's, at least in Manchester, because they were a bunch of redneck idiots who were like "Oh, you drive one of those crappy rotary things that blow up all the time."

LOL, thats just ignorant hillbillies talking. I have heard that it is ok to run NGK 7's in all four ports, anyone doing this and seeing good results? I think it may actually help me on the bottom end, running a hotter plug in the trailing ports.

On top of that, almost everything ordered for the Rotary from Advance has to be taken back because it is the wrong one.

Yes, can relate to that. They had a spark plug listed for an RE5 that was made by Autolite and when it came in, it was nowhere near the same design as NGK had made specifically for that bike.

Yeah I work at a major chain parts store, I have for five years. I will agree with you on the comment about the employees lacking product knowledge. I have seen former employees go through my store like there was a turn style. We always stress to walk around the store and become aware of the surroundings to gain product knowledge. I guarantee you that if you were to come in my store you wouldn't be let down. Also if whatever is part being searched for isn't in the computer there are also second sources, it's just that some lazy ass employees are too lazy too search for it. Lol if you came lookin for a flux capacitor, bet your ass I would get you one lol.

i know it's not really a positive world view, but if you just keep repeating to yourself "people are stupid", you'll find that you're occasionally surprised, rather than constantly disappointed

I lucked at my local NAPA. There's a guy there that will bend over backwards to find you what you need, and doesn't care how much time it takes to find. Those guys are a rare commodity. I can't count how many times i've gone looking for something at a different local parts store and just walked out shaking my head.
