Rotary Nut Case

Not new to rotary but new member
Many of you probably know of me, how many of you really know me that is different. I have several different names depending on which one has been previously taken in other locations. My user names in other locations.
Rotarydude - ebay, vintage rotaries, Rx3 registry and another un-named club Rotarydave - My original name and the first one I take when able Rotarydave@aol.com - My email and AOL IM account Sgt Dave - Thanks to Bernie, and Atkins Rotary Daddy - Thanks to my 2 kids, Rachel and Nicole Honey - Thanks to my wife, Lisa, who no offense to any of your signifcant others is the greatest woman in the whole world(if you think I am kidding you need to really read this whole post) SFC David Meditz - My real name. Who am I, I am a Soldier in the US Army at least for a couple more years, I am a father, a husband, a son, a friend and yes a confirmed absolute Rotary Nutcase. I purchased my first Rx7 in 1991 while stationed in Germany, my next one came in 1992 while stationed in KS (I still have it although it has seen better days and has 300K+ miles on it). Since then I have do not know how many rotaries I have owned. I currently do not know how many I own and trying to remember them is near impossible. I will do my best to list them and point out the cool ones. I do not usually sell my cars as I collect them instead, however I do try to help the community with parts and I am not a vendor maybe someday but not right now. Where am I, Currently I am at Ft Riley Kansas on TDY, but home is near San Antonio Texas, Near my Rotary Ranch the wayward home for the abused and abandoned. Rotary rescues, interventions and exorcisms performed daily What I got, The List (Old School) R100, 70,71(x3),1200 wagon, 1000 pickup Rx2, 72 Crapped out racecar awaiting restoration Rx3 Coupe 73(crappy), 74, 75, 76, 77 racecar, 78 Rx3 Sedan 72 Rx3 Wagon 73,74,75 Rx4 Coupe 74 (x3, the 64th and 74th US spec cars and a supercharged one) Rx4 Wagon 75,76,78 Rx5/Cosmo 76(J-spec RHD), 76 (x I don't know over 6), 77, 78 (x2) REPU 74,75,76,77 (don't know how many but it is at least 8) The List Rx7 (just the significant ones) Savanna 79 RHD (three of them one with 2 vin numbers, don't ask I don't know) 1978 SA22C 500033 - Earliest known US Spec Rx7, I will post the details 1978 SA22C 500088 - build date 2/78 Mazda official production started 3/78 1978 4/78 build date Widebody IMSA Mk I kit under going bebuild 1979 Limited edition (one for resto, one for parts) 1980 Custom Roadster topless 1980 LS - Gold (one for resto, one for parts) 1980 Anniversary Edition 1983 Pacific Avatar 1985 GSL-SE Convertible 1988 10th AE (One collectible 2nd owner, one parts car, one vert being AE cloned) Those are the significantly cool ones but there are about 10 or so more. Not listed is the stash of NOS and hard to find parts cataloged and purchased for the restoration of specific cars within our collection. In addition is the priceless collection of Models, Die-casts, Toys, Books, Owners Manuals, Sales Lit, Parts Books, FSMs, Wiring Diagrams, Posters and Artwork related to the Mazda Rotary Now why is my wife the coolest thing in the world, she lets me have the cars, a 12k sq foot shop and gets dirtier and greasier than I do working on them. She also gave me 2 daughters that although they like to stay clean help too because they think the cars are cool. As one of my daughters would say while riding in a open top unmuffled SP vert go faster daddy make it really LOUD As a collector I see myself as preserving the Mazda Rotary Heritage and as such I do not limit myself to one place but go everywhere I can to try to consolidate the information and grow the community I hope that I will be accepted here to do the same, without being censored elsewhere. I believe that we as a community need to support the members and the businesses without hate and malice. I have already seen too much hate and malice in my current JOB and multiple depolyments including one upcoming. Thank you for offering a community of like minded individuals and look for more posts soon. |

This is soon to be Billy's new Rx3 (re-speed) (please don't mind the dirt and cob webs that is why she is covered) Oh yea i forgot please note the beautiful Model on the Left she is a 1997 Rachel Ann (LOL)
Left one is Rust Monster supreme, right one (yea it has a bad hood and some surface rust) 1976 with correct taillights saved from crusher literally had to find the right button while the jerks stood there laughing EX Racer 77 SP 78 SP All original with AM/FM Tape, A/C and Orig Cold Air Intake (back ground is 72 Rx3 sedan) Wagons Was told this was the FANTASY ISLAND CONCEPT CAR........... j/k lol, this is what happens when drunk stoned stupid owners get too close to a sawsall Look hiding the brush is the rare and elusive low mileage never titled 73 Rx3 Wagon, Crikey this poor bugger is a cast off from the dealership that raided it for parts when they couldn't get none from the dealer. Finally an inglorious end she was tossed out like a piece of common gutter trash, but she is will come back I just know it. Last edited by Rotarydave; 01-11-2009 at 11:48 PM.. Reason: fix caption |
