The REAL Question

I have acquired a 1992 FD3s that has quite a few after market parts on it. mainly, its got a complete and good condition single turbo kit (Garrett T04e i think) obx manifold, greddy front mount, koyo rad.. etc etc..
A friend of mine is pushing me to single my car, but i really enjoy the responsiveness of the stock twins.

i mostly autox and gymkhana my car, so response is very important. I usually place in the top 3 drivers (out of 12 or so) and have never been lower than 8th out of 37 drivers. we dont have classes since its not organized by the SCCA or any other major stateside group.

Anyway, to the question.. should i single my car? Yeah, the car will be quite powerful (compared to stock), yeah i have all the parts, yeah i could do it all myself.. everything except tuning.

OR

should i keep it stock, sell the parts and save up for what i really want (gt35r) i dont have a huge car budget so its going to take a while before i am able to fully build my car how i want.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

btw.. watch for the sale thread soon. some parts are going on my car, i will be willing to sell and ship almost anything to you stateside guys. big stuff being the exception of course. everything will also have to go through USPS...

sell what you don't like, keep stockers for now.

OBX manifold??

I wouldn't waste your money on some knock off turbo or manifold.

Stick with stock. if your stockers go bad, I would buy a used set.

Go single if you could get a good set.. and don't waste your money on some cheap ebay crap. Also, making more HP means more money on other parts.. people tend to forget that and spend thousands to make the car to have high hp but drive like ass!

Eatmyclutch is an unknown quantity at this point
This is something you should figure out yourself, not to be a dick or anything.

I'd be more concerned with the handling/suspension/platform though, knowing that you gymkhana that shit, that is if you haven't.

im not wasting my money.. im getting the car as a parts car.. ill post a list of crap its got.

the car has a complete swap already on it.. only thing im not 100 percent on is the fuel. its got block offs turbo, etc etc etc.. i know what you mean, and im leaning towards leaving it alone. mostly because my car runs well as is.

what does that have to do with anything? youve never asked anyone else for advice? i am just weighing other peoples opinions to see what they think. then ill make my decision.

the car handles great. i dont need to change anything. i have toda fightex coilovers, racing beat front sway bar, stock rear. 2 way diff (going in soon) great tires, and great brakes (stainless lines, master cylinder brace, hp plus pads.. i need rotors.. they are on the way.) the car is well balanced as is and i keep up modified STI's Evo's, etc etc in the corners.. the only department where i think im lacking is the get up and go. i do need to do a bushing kit.. leaning towards the delrin. ill do that when/if i tear the car down next year to build it back up as a track only car.
