"Switched" power source?

I have a S5 N/A ... I am looking for the best "switched" power source (perf under hood) for my e-fan. I currently have it set up to come on via temp sensor switch, but, because it's wired to direct power, it continues to run after car has been shut down, causing battery drain. I think I can tie into the leading coil wiring, but not sure how this will effect spark, when fan comes on ...
thoughts, suggestions ...

1. get the cheapy autozone manual for the rx7. The wiring diagram in the back is a huge help.

2. There are more than one way to go about this. You could simply run it literally switched with or without use of relays. If you want to have it powered on with the key on perhaps look to the main relay mounted on the driver's side fender well near the trailing coil.

I'll go ahead and get my wiring diagram for you. I recommend you get at least a 30A breaker/fuse and a relay to avoid burning out the alt.

I read Rotary Ressurection's post and his method is very similar to mine so if you are having a hard time I can post pics of how I did it for reference.

Think I have it ... found a green 6 pin connector near leading coil ... has the power I need .... looks like same in Kevin's website ... so should be safe ... thx

Yes the green 6pin connecter beside the battery tray is the perfect switched source for an Efan install. I do suggest using a relay with the install as well, as Ive had one relay blow on me and not take anything else with it and just replaced it and went on my merry way.

The pin you want to use on this connecter btw is the middle pinout near the 'lock' of the plug (usually the thingy you depress to release plugs from each other) as shown in this picture (on my own car btw)
