New GTUs owner from OC, CA

Hey Everyone, I just picked up my 89 GTUs the other month and have been enjoying the car while fixing little bugs here and there. The car has been a blast so far and I hope to learn a lot more soon. My only mods so far are the Racing Beat downpipe/presilencer combo and a set of custom Megan coilovers. (my roommate works at Megan as a shock engineer) |

The car has been great. I took it to buttonwillow the 2nd week of ownership which is where I've been finding some of its faults. The car is slow. Like real slow. Like 7 seconds slower than my girlfriends miata slow. (the Silver one in the picture above) I think I have it narrowed down to what I found was a map sensor and air pump solenoid codes. Still awaiting a new map sensor, so we'll see what f that fixes my high rpm hesitation and top end power. I found out the PO also had put in some Atkins Aux port sleeves. I hope they are oriented correctly. | |

I got bored on my lunch and put in my new used MAP sensor, the code went away! However, I also had a code for the port air solenoid, which I was able to clear once, is now back. Ugh. But I did mess with the aux port actuators and I can hear some compression/something turning from inside the IM. So I'm hoping its just that faulty solenoid. |

Likewise! I really don't remember. I just remember seeing a clean looking red FC. When are you moving back to Colorado? Dan moved back, you're required by law to come back too. |
