Default I just got a call from...

Fontana Village called a few minutes ago and left me a v-mail. Apparently they "want to be a part of DGRR". (translated: want our money) Anyhow that was the jist of the message and they'd like me to call back to see if I went this year etc. I'm still formulating my responses before I return the call.

Ask them what do they have to offer, why should WE move our event over to FV? Tell them all the good things that NV has to offer and how can they better it. Play hard ball, and even say so, "It's time to play hard ball". It's going to take a hell of a lot to make us want to go back to FV. Make them beg, etc.

disclaimer: I'm not advocating moving, but I do advocate them begging.

^lol.

I called them back and told them that the cost of lodging, proximity to conveniences and the rest of the group was why I stayed at NV this year. They woman I talked to mentioned possibly posting cheaping rates near the time of DGRR 2009 in hopes to attract more of the group, but for the reasons posted I will be staying with the group again next year.

Never stayed at Fontana Village , but we did drive through and look around ... I was VERY pleased with Nantahala Village though , and it would take ALOT to persuade me to stay anywhere else

Nantahala was amazing.

I'll be staying there next year regardless of where the event is held.

I'm actually going to be going back there this fall (probably septemberish) because it was just that good.

I hate to say, it "might" be cheaper at Fontana, but not cheap overall... Because they will be charging me for every little thing(S) and I'm almost positive food will be more

All I can say is... they could kiss my ass!!

I also think its a cheap shot contacting MY EVENT attendees..

One call doesn't bother me... any more than that is when it starts to bother, especially since I have now returned the call.
