Default 1984 GS very new to rotary

hi everone , I got a 1984 gs that some one tried to take good care of had new tires belts and hoses and brakes when I got it , and I motor that let coolent out the tail pipe. Pulled the motor and put in a different one . Had trouble getting i smoged but its smoged now , still having troubles with timeing need to talk to some one about that , runs great if it back off 40 50 60 Dont know for sure need a little help, some one that has had this problem everthing I try dont work to try to get it back to factory and have it run good :banghead

Welcome Merkrotary. Use the search function to find threads dealing with your question and download the Factory Service Manual (if you haven't already). here: http://wright-here.net/cars/rx7/manuals.html

If you need more help you can always start a thread in the 1st Gen technical section where more people will see it. Need the info you give to be as complete as possible. Symptoms, modifications, what you've already tried, etc. It's always hard to diagnose something over the internet, so don't expect miracles. Everyone will try their best to help you out.

It sounds to me like your vacuum advance isn't working right. Good place to start is to make sure all your vacuum lines are tight and you have no leaks anywhere. Rotaries don't like vacuum leaks, not much of any engine does.

thank you sir I will look into that try pluging the lines and see if it runs worst , when it is in time it pings and falls down pre dentition is what I would call it that is why I put the timing back the more I went the better it run got new plugs and wires. Any way sir thank you for the come back
