Have you confirmed that the new alternator is charging?

Yeah check your voltage while running.

^^^ Voltage meter bounces from 10-12 volts.
I think this may be the problem. How can I fix the charging issue?

You may also have a ground problem. Mine was doing the same thing a few years back. I got some wires with alligator clips on them and attached one between the engine and body. Voltage went right up. Switched it with a battery cable with double ring terminals and haven't had a problem since.

Well, used a volt meter batter messured out to be 12+ volts, but the alt was at 11.78...
Maybe I installed the alt incorrectly, but everything seems to be plugged in properly.

On the "T" plug that goes into the back of the alternator, the vertical part of the T should be showing 12 volts while the ignition is on. This sends the signal to the alternator, letting it know the current voltage of the system so it knows when to start charging. If you don't have 12 volts showing at that part of the plug, then the alt will not enter charge mode.
If it shows no voltage, then check the fuses under the dash.

Turned out to be the alternator. Hopefully my replacement will do better justice. Thanx for the helpful responses.
