Sigh.....

You can use some sort of Teflon/Nylon/Plastic tubing (don't remember which one).
Here's a link to a write up: OMP Lines

Yeah, I am doing this too, because mine are brittle as a rock, and Kevin Landers told me that I cant completely remove the OMP on my car unless I have a standalone.
I always WAS for keeping it too! I'm gonna go with a 2 stroke kit + separate reservoiur through, because that makes more sense to me!

I-had-a-bad-experience...

i rebuilt mine using that write-up and they turned out great... I got lucky because the shop where I did them had the tool for crimping them properly, but any good pliers will do... work slowly and think about what you are doing and you should have no problems...

I ordered the hose today.
The shipping will cost almost half of the actual materials! So, if anyone in the Columbia area would like to get any of this, I would be happy to order the minimum amount and redistribute. To make this worth-while, there would have to be about 25 orders. (the price I got was not $1.51 per foot, but $2.00 per foot for the hose and $.40 per clamp instead of .33) How - if at all are group buys handled on this site?

And finally, I think I will add a 'T' fitting to the lines so I can occasionally 'tap' to see if the oil is flowing well from the pump (it is old too).

I know lots of guys who used that write-up w/ success. I replaced mine w/ new back a few years ago and have since ditched the entire OMP.
S4 cars w/ manual OMP can get away with it... but the S5 is electric and if you ditch it, the stock ECU flips out and goes into LIMP mode big time... In all honestly, if you have the S5 - I'd still run a little premix, just to be safe.. I run premix even in the 8 because I never have nor will trust mazda's decision on how much oil to inject. They have to care about EPA laws... I dont care about EPA (sorry mother earth) |

Mine is an S4, and I prefer to keep it as stock as possible. Like someone else said, one day I might forget to dump premix in. Seems too much of a hassle to me.
As for reliability, I've had two 7s that I have taken to high mileage, and the OMP has never caused or been a problem.
