Default Cereamic Coating Intake Manifolds?

So pretty much everyone out there knows the benefits of cereamic coating diffrent parts of the exhaust systen, but what about on the intake manifolds? I would think this could help alot by keeping the intake temps lower. Has anyone tried this before, or would it be pretty useless?

I have my LIM ceramic coated since it's right there next to the turbo, but I couldn't tell you if it helped since I don't have any sensors in that part LOL.

Wouldn't your Air Inlet temp sensor read a lower temp if it did work?

I had both my UIM and LIM ceramic (and teflon) coated when I had them extrude honed.

I honestly don't have any specific comparisons to say whether it's colder or not since I had it done when I got a rebuild, and swapped from twins to a single.

That being said, I have noticed that the UIM typically feels much cooler to the touch after I stop.

I think there are a lot of factors that go into this though... I've also got ceramic coating on my turbo/DP, I have Turblown's inconel heat shield for the LIM, I'm spraying water/meth starting progressively from a lower boost, etc., etc.

I'd say that if you ONLY ceramic coated your LIM/UIM than it probably wouldn't really make that much of a difference, as heat would be seeping in from other areas. However if you do it in part with other precautions you'll def probably notice it's effectiveness.

No, because the sensor is mounted in the UIM and the LIM is what's ceramic coated, right before going into the engine.

Agreed. I only have mine ceramic coated but I think I'd rather have the heat shield. Maybe the ceramic coating is helping a lot, but I'm not sure. Especially since all my stuff is done in black HAHA. I may look into getting a heat shield but the ones at Turblown I'm not sure will work because of how close my turbo sits, or maybe it's another reason, I can't remember now haha. I know there's a reason I haven't bought one though. Do those fit with a GZ LIM?

You could heat tape over the ceramic coat. I heat taped the under side of my UIM. I haven't done my LIM because i don't want to pull the turbos to get it off yet. When i go single i'm sure i'll ceramic and tape the outside of the LIM.
