Torque specs for rear gear bolts
I'm making a checklist for engine assembly using my Atkins DVD, FSM and Haynes. I can't find torque specs for the rear gear bolts. Neither FSM or Haynes list them and I don't have the sheet that came with my Atkins DVD
Are rear gear bolts the same torque as front gear? Front Gear are 12-17 lbs

Sounds about right...
My (poor) memory recalls about 20 lb./ft. These are the ones with the "lock" washers on them? If these are the stock ones, you can't torque them down too hard anyways. I've seen a lot of them snap from too much torque. -Ted |

Yeah I found the answer and it's same as front gear. Unfortunately the assembly hit a snag. I got to installing water seals and found two of the four cracked in half. I'm about to create a thread about it if anyone would like to offer advice.
