new rotors and pads... where do I get them?
I am wanting to replace my front and rear rotors and pads. they need it for sure on the front and might as well get the rear done at the same time. I have an 89 tII atm and I have been looking around for just different options. I can get them for like 20-30 each @ napa but idk? and they have package deals for like 170 on ebay for front and rear with pads.... but Im not sure what to do... any ideas?

I love my Hawk HPS pads. They don't dust too much and they're quiet. I bought them online somewhere (been a few years). I'd just search around for the best price, probably Tire Rack/Ebay/Jegs or whatever speed shop.
I bought stock replacement rotors from Beck Arnley (supply Autozone and such). I didn't go with slotted/drilled/dimpled/etc. because they're a ridiculous waste of money for a street car unless you're going for looks.

I am not really sure I even like the slotted and drilled look, im also worried about the quality of the rotors. I have heard that the cheap ones break. I do live in the mountains and only a few mins away from deals gap, so I drive roads like it all the time. I have had brake fade in my fd with stock pads and rotors before but idk if the slotted and drilled rotors would have helped alot. I am more concerned that they will crack under this pressure instead of doing as intended....

i warped my dimpled rotors on deals gap. I get break rotors through work. We sell to Autozone too. Wagner rotors from federal mogul. pretty inexpensive, but factory rotor.

I did a major brake overhaul on my '89T2 last year just before DGRR-X, here's what I went with:
Concur with the Hawk HPS recommendation - I couldn't be happier with them. Better grab than stock pads, and a bit less dusty. If you shop around, you can usually get all 4 wheels done for a little over $100 online. For rotors, I went with Brembo stock replacement rotors from Tirerack.com on all 4 corners. Cost was about $40~45 each. Another rotor brand I like is the Centric Premium series; recently used those for a major brake job on my '03 Protege5 daily driver, and to be honest I'm hard pressed to see any significant difference between those and the Brembo stock replacement rotors I put on my '89T2. The Centric rotors ran me ~ $20-30 per (for my MP5, probably similar cost for the '7s) Pete |

Hawk pads are great, never had a problem with them. I had a set of pads from Advance when I worked there they were Wearever Golds, they weren't too bad. I don't like drilled rotors, but I wouldn't mind having a set of slotted ones.
