Default Brotherhood of the Dragon - 2010 (Finally!)

Some of the original Brotherhood of the Dragon (BOTD) members are working to organize an October trip to the Tail of the Dragon. We would stay at the Fontana Village (same as last year) and the dates are...
October 8th - 10th.

Who's on board so far?

Alabama/Tennessee (TVRX8):

* Dan (blueflameFE) + one
* Laura (rddragon8)
* Paul (om-nc)

North Carolina (NCRotary):

* Nic (I8U RX8)
* Janna (Pink Flea)
* Gary (ski)

Florida:

* Rob (speadweasel)
* Randy (razpewton)

Virginia (CVMC):

* Pat (G-Rex)
* Nick (marvin rock)
* John (VR8)
* Scott (addiktedtoboost) + Blair

Tennessee:

* Jackson (whitey)
* Dave (dbaize) + Ted

ROOMS ARE AVAILABLE TO RESERVE AT THIS TIME!

Fontana Village Resort (800) 849-2258

Make sure you ask for the "Brotherhood of the Dragon" group.

2 BR Hemlock (NEW UNITS!!) @ $149/night
2 BR Laurels (where we were last year, by the pond) @ $109/night
1 BR Willows @ $89/night
1 BR Lodge rooms @ $89/night

The Hemlocks are the new swank units with all new ammenities, 1 king bed, 1 queen and 2 twin beds. Divide this one out among 3 parties and it's a great buy! Units would be on Welch Rd; #545, 546, 547, 548.

The Laurels are the units most of us stayed in last year. Two bedrooms, one queen and 2 twins. They are located around the Trout Pond. Unit #745, 747, 749, 751, 753, 755.

The Willows are on Cheoah Way. They are a one bedroom unit with a queen bed. Unit #909, 912, 916, 920.

The Lodge rooms are like a typical hotel room and are located in the main lodge.

See the map on Fontana's website for cabin locations. Check out pictures of the units HERE.

Sounds like fun. I have already been up there once this year, in April at DGRR. And, I have another drive at the end of October with the Blue Ridge Rotary Run (B3R). It look like if I were able to make it, I would be the only one representing Georgia.

I will put this one on my list of things to do! Had to miss DGRR due to being deployed. Just bought an 8, plus reason for me to head home for a few days!

True, we do need a GA representative. One of our original BOTD members was from just outside of Atlanta. Sadly, he sold his 8 for a Speed3. At least he's still in the Mazda family though.

We have a few coming from Tidewater, sounds like a good convoy crew forming.

So if any of you are within driving distance of Deals Gap, we'd be glad to have you stop in this coming Saturday (9th). There is no registration fee due to the smaller group size, just planning to spend 3 or 4 hours driving around the mountains. Leaving on the big drive around 10:00 am.

Planning to hit the coordinating with a more deliberate effort for next years event. We want to get back to the crowds like we had in '08. Pencil in September 2011 if you want to take a fall trip through the Dragon.
