now what?

thinking about dabbling with N/a setups
since i really cant afford a big nice turbo build... i did some thinking and remembered that i had planned on building a well rounded N/a setup... not something i can kill v8s with, but something that will keep me happy.
right now im thinking something along the lines of 4-port N/a, s5 rotors, rx8 e-shaft, ITBs, some sort of engine management (please recommend one)... so far thats as far as i have gotten... i know a guy that lives near by that has a similar setup (i think he still posts here) that really caught my eye. anyone ever play around with N/a setups that can give me a little advice or recommendations on what to get?

I don't know about with ITB's.
But around 200 horses is the most I've seen N/A. |

For the money you'll spend on that setup you could get a stock S4 TII setup that makes more power and has nice response.

Ya, ITB's aren't really a cheap way to go unless you can fabricate a manifold yourself. I was going to build something similar for my FC but then decided to go turbo. I was going to use some sort of motorcycle throttle bodies and make a manifold to mate to a S4 TII lower intake manifold. I ended up using all the cool bits I collected for that project to build the engine for my Rx-4. NA engines are interesting to play with. I'm still trying to tweak my Rx-4 to see what it's capable of. It's nice to know you won't kill an apex seal if it goes lean for a second.

explain edit: before this goes any further... i should explain that im not made of money and dropping 1200~1800 on a TII engine isnt gonna happen... going this route allows me to piece together an engine over time. also, not having to worry about throwing a seal is a big plus.

To get any power from an N/A you have to go standalone, and that costs quite a bit.

used megasquirt setups have gone for 200 or you can assemble it yourself on the cheap.
FBs with 84-85 axles have a multitude of gearing options, including 4.44 and 4.78 from junkyard cars. Potentially a 5.13 ratio im working to verify. Gearing is good!

You just have to watch for deals and be at the right place at the right time. I just witnessed a Haltech E6X with harness sell for $200. A brand new Rtek 2.1 would probably only cost around $500 or so.

Like Buggy said, keep your eyes out for good deals on EMS. Any ECU that can run a rotary will work, Haltech, Motec (expensive), Megaquirt, microtech, etc.
