				Question about 10AE

I have acquired a 10AE, that was disassembled when I got it. My question is this. Since its an 88, and some 88's had low impedance injectors and some had high. Which is it. The car came with 3 motors and several harnesses. I have no clue as to which harness goes in the car. I am going to start trying to put the car back together after deals gap, so anyone that can assist me with info it is much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Charles

I believe the 87 turbos were LOW IMPEDANCE and the 88+ turbos were HIGH IMPEDANCE.

The cutoff is 1987.5. Anything NEWER = high anything OLDER = Low (will come with a resistor) Wait until others verify though.

Yeah, 87.5 was the cutoff point. your 10AE should have high impedance injectors. I would suggest taking the wiring harnesses apart (don't mix them together) and check for bad spots in the wires before installing in the car. This will prevent a big headache in the future and give you some assurance that you won't have a wiring issue. If you have a bad wire or two in a harness replace it with the "twin" wire from one of the other harnesses.

You could even go so far as completely disassembling the harness, reusing the plugs and connectors (after they have been thoroughly cleaned) and replacing all of the wire, using the factory wires as a template. |
