Default New 1st gen issues

Okay im lost as he77. I just bought an 85, starter does nothing, doesnt even try to work. headlights do nothing also. Not sure of any other electric stuff. But my issue arrises from looking at this picture. (not my car)

I dont have the smaller box on the left........ its not there, Did all cars come with both boxes? Also the wires and screws i haave circled, do they go together, if so where are the wires coing from. Are they just grounds? My box doesnt even have the tab with the screw in it.
Sorry im an fc guy, this is my first 1st gen. thanx in advance.

No, I believe those are from an earlier version. I've got a 85 GS, and it only has one box. You'll probably have to pick up or download a copy of the service manual to get a wiring diagram. Either that, or find some pictures that actually apply to your car.

Good luck...

The box on the left is for the fuel injection system on the 84-85 GSL-SE cars that had 13Bs. If you have a 12A car it won't have that box.

The wires with eyelets look like grounds to me and they don't connect to the fusible links. The White/Red wire with the screw comes from the positive terminal on the battery.

find your wiring diagram here

Okay so i have a 12a so i dont have the second box, now do i need the red/white wire connected to that tab on the main box with a 12a? cause thats not there. My problem is that the starter does nothing and the headlights do nothing. but if i turn on the headlight switch the warning beep of the lights being on goes off but the lights do nothing. Mostly i just want to see if the car will start and go from there i doubt it does but if so im gonna drive it for a while, if not i have a spare t2 motor im gonna put in her. Then im back to second gen stuff which i know lol.

Yep, you're gonna need that White/Red wire. From the battery to the fusible links it goes off to the ignition switch (and branches off to the alternator).
