Default Cracked PPF

While installing my AI kit, I noticed a small (about 2 1/2") on top of the PPF about 3 or 4" in front of the differential. When I replace my clutch and tranny, I'll inspect the entire thing. Would welding and reinforcing just the cracked area(s) be fine or should I source a new one?

i would get another PPF and re enforce it. For this not to happened again i would install a garfinkle engine torque brace and a banzai differential brace.

Howard is smart .If you weld the old one you will need to put some reinforce plates in .The hard part is finding a person who can design the plates and weld them properly .To find a good one and have it done would be best if the cost is good for you .

I have a spare PPF that I longer need. I bought it when I replaced my clutch just in case mine was cracked and mine was fine. Let me know if your interested.

Banzai diff braces are junk and do more bad then good. The only one that works and is worth using is the PFS diff "cradle" brace.

I have the Bonzai one... but not installed (initially designed by Dragon in japan and I think Bonzai copied it).

Here is the picture of the PFS one. Its $350.

Thanks Phil. How is the Banzai brace? Is it really "junk"? The PFS brace looks beefy, but from just looking at the way it mounts I'm not sure how it's suppose to assist with the PPF issue. I would think to satisfy all aspects of the issue, you would need a combination of the 2 braces. Hmmm...
