Exclamation Interest in some FB emblems?

Hey there fellow rotorheads. I've got a line with a company that does car emblems, they do the muscle car stuff and are looking to branch out. They can make metal emblems, chrome them, and paint the black part, even from plastic originals. Looks like a full set of FB emblems (MAZDA on the nose, 2 mazda_Rx-7 for left and right side, and the MAZDA on the rear) for somewhere between $75 and $100. That's all 4 emblems brand new in chrome-plated steel! They want around 10 pre-paid to make the mold and production takes about 4-6 weeks including chroming, though they can "speed up" if we get a ton of orders.

Soooo... Anybody interested? If we can get somewhere around 10 interested parties and some pre-pay I can make this happen. The emblems are top notch (take a look at the muscle cars at the Mopar Nationals and you're going to see some of their work). They are interested in doing other projects as well.

Takers?

I have to actually have the emblem to send in for mold making in the first place. I have a set of FB emblems, but not Savanna ones.

you will have problems with mazda on this one because many of those are still available. Mazda only will allow them to be reproduced if they aren't making them and it is not an active part number.

For the first gen either SA or FB currently Mazda is not producing the B-pillar badges for LS, 79 LE, 80 AE, GSL and 83 LE. We could get away with making the Savanna Rx7 ones because they aren't available either.

Not saying this is a bad idea and if you really want to do it the mfg company needs to contact me because I have most of those NOS just for this reason.

Oh yea I forgot the mazda cost on the other badges isn't over 40$ per badge

Getting licensing from Mazda is something they can accomplish. Like I said, they have been in the business for awhile.

Mazda's OEM emblems are brittle plastic with poor quality chrome. We would be updating to metal emblems with real triple chrome plating. The final price is highly dependent on the complexity of molding and amount of interest and could be as low as $50 for a set which with the price of real chrome these days is simply awesome.

To buy the Mazda emblems through Black Dragon costs $30+$50+$50+$25=$155 so even at $100 we're ahead.

I misunderstood, the dealings I have had with similar companies in the past have said 75-100 per emblem. I would be interested in dealing with them on the Old school (pre rx7 emblems) as I have already got the permissions from Mazda on those. I am still willing to help on the B-pillar badges if you do not have those. My collection of badges NOS is quite extensive

Each mold holds 4-6 emblems depending on size so they try to do complete car "sets" in each mold. As I was saying, $100 for the set is quite good! They are willing to do any set that I can gather 10 pre-paids on. So if you think the old school guys are willing and you have some sets we can certainly try it.

So the interest is only in Savanna stuff? Anybody else? I'd like to get something going.

Dave,
Call me sometime this weekend man, I want to talk to you about emblems and the FB's you're parting.
