Thanks. I just say the tach disappear so I couldn't tell. BTW, sounds great and can't wait to see it. Planning on running it at SpeedForSale 08?

I just want to start driving it to be honest with ya. I am trying to eliminate all the weak links of the car so I can put down 450-520 RWHP and the car be somewhat reliable. I think 450 RWHP is about the limit for reliabilty with a REW motor properly tuned. You can make more but there is more upkeep changing plugs more frequent, running race fuel. I will run the car for a while with the 62-1.

Maybe I should have paid more attention to this. I have a large hole in my floorboard.

thanks guys. I did the 8.8 swap and now minus a few things. I have to flare out the rear a bit to clearance for the 255 drag radials. I also completed the methenol injection kit. The only thing left is the T67 set up and it will be ready to make 500.
The transmission took some time to do. Setzep from the other forum did this as well. The 2 tail housings are interchangable. You have to shorten the linkage tube and weld it to the correct length. Also after the tail housing goes on, A custom trans mounting bracket has to be made. It is involving, but worth not hacking up a car. Bryan |

Nice Brian.. I have been wanting to do an auto set up with a transbrake-big 6800 stall. Maybe a solid rear too. I know of one guy that did the th400 tranny but had bad issues and the gearing was way off. Top speed was 130mph....

The Turbo400 is a 3 speed. You will have to run some lower gears or way taller tires to get any mph out of it. Plus some Torque! Anyway, you will give up all your streetability with the ultra High stall speeds. The bands always slipping will cause trans fluid temps to get really hot. Then you screw up stuff. You need a good gear box. Possibly a 4+1 doug nash or a Richmond 5 speed. They would be your cheapest options. Other than that the Dog box is also an expensive option.
Do a T2 rear chunk and some chromoly axels in the rear and you should be fine with the IRS. Go until you break it I guess . |
