These plugs are rubbish, I do not know why people use them in anything performance related.

So which plugs are you using Peter? Just calling them rubbish without an explanation of why you believe them so, and no alternative selection, leaves us just a little short on useable information.

$40 a piece is pretty steep for spark plugs. Rice, you would probably know more than anyone else, but are there ways of maintaining spark plugs to extend their life range? I don't know if it's a stupid question or not. I have seen old spark plugs refurbishers. If a plug is fouled, is it completely junk?

The ghetto base alloy plug ground straps fatigue over time and these need to be binned before the used by date, I have seen these get bent onto the center electrode from combustion pressure in high HP turbo 2 rotors. Best thing you can do to extend plug life is (any one or all of these things) water injection, right AFR mix at idle and cruise! (90+% of running conditions), CDI ignition system to prevent wet fouling (and throwing away $200 set of plugs!) have an engine that has compression! lol! this is common in aftermarket steel sealed shit boxes that have low compression ! and this means less heat on the plug at idle and cruise and forever problems with low plug life as a result of a lack of heat to burn off the fuel and carbon deposits (self cleaning). Less compression you have the more plug problems you have RE fouling. Set the car up right, run the right parts and plugs will never be a problem again.............. I laugh very hard when I see cars that need "warm up plugs!" good set ups run 11 heat range from freezing to track and in daily applications not a problem. I run R7420 in 11 heat range all round in mine, they work great, but dont try to run these with a HKS DLI or inductive lol, or a shit "tune" they will be a throw away item in a week of daily driving, hence my paragraphs above of a complete correct well developed set up.

I made this thread for information that NGK redid the spark plugs. I'm not arguing for what application. Mazda recommends them for STOCK applications. I'll put money these plugs outsell every other spark plug out there for 13B rotary engine applications, period. You gonna argue you know better than Mazda R&D for stock applications? You come in here and shit in this thread with your rants. I really don't give a fuck if you figured this out before Trust / GReddy. You wanna talk about high boost / high power applications? If you want some of these shit plugs cheap I'll sell you some, I literally have hundreds of them lol.

I was just SHOCKED to see people using these plugs! I don't know anyone who wastes there time with these in any application stock or otherwise. Thus my post/s.

If it was good then you would tune your own car to 10.0:1 AFR at 200bhp level LOL! like they do? have you ever tested a bone stock FD3S, I have I list the data which no one else does!................ Just cause it came from a mass produced factory does not mean its right or the correct, that argument is spurious at best. Done believe me go instrument a car and change out these rubbish plugs for a set of B9EGV's and post back. You will find it will use less fuel, make more power, be less sensitive to over rich (OEM is best tuning) ....... I could go on and on. I did all of this testing in the mid 90's a long time ago, like I said I forgot just how bad these stock plugs are, have not used them in a very long time and every time I change them out and do nothing else (don't tell the customer) they all give feedback on how much better the car is, that is not placebo either as most are very anal and know their cars intimately and if there was any negative I am sure they would tell me about it Try it Ted, if I am wrong then I am happy to be told so, by you or Mazda, but I am not and never am.

i have not noticed any change in the plugs, some new ones are boxed in a silver package but they look the same physically compared to the old yellow boxed versions.
i use R6725-105 leading/BUR9EQ trailings for anything over 350whp. the BUR9EQs are fine for anything below that. yes i also realize this goes against the thought process that the trailing plug should be colder than the leading, but of course with anything testing told me that it was a waste paying $50 for upgraded trailing plugs, same goes for ignition amps to bump up trailing output. trailing ignition is just a placebo, as long as it is firing consistently it will still bring in the numbers.
