Default need some help with a few problem 90 mazda rx7 s5 na

I'm new to thiis forum and I apoligize if some of this info is posted already.

My headlights won't go down and when I try to activate them I hear a buzz noise coming form near the headlight.

My gauges and normal rear red lights don't turn on, the fuse keeps shorting every time I plug the light switch with a new fuse.

My speedometer doesn't work.

My wipers work on only one speed.

My radio doesn't turn on, but the fuse is good.
I searched some of thiis stuff up here and found some answers but I want to know the easiest way to fix these problems, like maybe make a seperate switch for the lights.
Also I failed smog and according to a graph I found on this forum, my air pump is to blame, my low speed test failed.
How would I fix an air pump.

I'm getting the haynes book soon to try and learn more about this car but id really apreciate some help here, I can even part out some parts from my other rx7 for cheap,

Welcome.

0) Always search before posting. As you noted most topics have been covered in the past.

1) See if the headlights can go up and down manually. See your owners manual or look near the lights to see how. If they are mechanically broken, that will lead to a different set of steps than if there are electrical issues.

2) You have a short. Google "how to find a short" and you'll find a lot of tutorials.

3) See if the speedo is plugged into the back of the cluster. Again search as removing the cluster is discussed. Someone may have disconnected it to falsify the mileage. The cables do break and you'll learns about people's experiences in other threads.

4) Mazda didnt discover how to solder until the late 90s! It's a common problem and probably not worth the effort. RainX for the win!

5) Use a volt meter and see if there is power getting to the radio. If there is, then the radio is dead.

The Factory Service Manual (FSM) is available as PDFs on the internet. You'll find them and much more in the Archives.

Good luck with your project

And now you know where the term DPO or "dreaded previous owner" comes from!

Gratz on the progress!
