squeaky brakes
ok, so my car supposedly had new brakes when i bought it a few weeks ago, but they started squealing really bad, so i replaced the pads. (the rotors are in perfect shape) the squeaking went away for a few hours, but now it's back.
any ideas?

Make sure that the shims are in place, and properly installed. If they are, then there is some goop you can buy to reduce squeeling.

Go to www.rockauto.com and check out the Disc Brake Hardware Kit. For 10 bucks it has all of the little spring clips and stuff. There is also a brake pad shim kit, which is thin pieces of metal that go between the pad and the piston in order to reduce squeeling. Pick them both up for under 20 bucks and you should be all set.

Shims and the sticky spray you are supposed to treat the pads with will do wonders.
