Default Speed Bleeders?

In light of my 8 being a northern car, the bleeder screws on the calipers are all F'd up now.

I want to take my calipers off, clean/rebuild and paint them to prevent any further issues with my braking system. In that process, I'd like to install Speed Bleeders.

Do you know if anybody makes these yet for the 8? I'm sure I can get some that would fit, but I'm not sure of the size yet.

The 626 version was 7mm x 34mm in length and I dont recall, but the miata's were a little smaller. Anybody know the size? Speed bleeders will make life very easy for me as my GF is tired of helping me purge the system before big drives like deals gap was, etc...

NM - Found them on Summit Racing.

Russell Part #639560 = $9.88 (Rear)
Russell Part #639550 = $9.88 (Front)

So less than $20 for some easy bleeding!

The sizes are:
R - 10mm x 1.0 35mm deep
F - 8mm x 1.0 34mm deep

This might help somebody in the future... I'll let you all know how they work out.

I bought speed bleeders from Summit (for an FC) and they worked wonderfully.

Did you use Russell or SpeedBleeder brand?

I had them on my protege back in the day and had no issues.. They say you should replace them though every year to be safe, but I think they'll be ok for a while..

Why would you need to replace them every year?

And they are Russell I think.

Some racers have told me this before. I think they get a little over protective of the brake system. They fear the spring/pellet can get corroded and then become less effective or possibly leak.

My buddy had them in his T2 for years w/ no trouble...
