Replacing all fluid nipples on a 13B
Many of the oil and coolant nipples on my motor parts are in poor condition, mostly rusty, yet the rest of the parts are in great shape. If anyone has replaced them by tapping a thread and screwing in a fitting I would like to hear which pipe taps and fittings are needed. I would gladly take the time to do it myself, but I no longer have lots of time to finish this rebuild nor do I have readily available transportation to run around looking for pipe taps and fittings. However, I will do what I can in the absence of input.

Well, alot of it is going to depend on how much material you have around the area you're going to install the nipple as well as what size hose you're connecting to. That's going to dictate the size of the fitting.
Most will probably be 1/8 NPT or 1/4NPT with 5/16 hose barbs. But there's a large number of smaller and bigger ones so you're just going to have to figure out which ones you want to replace and what fits in the part. |
