the main concern with that, as with any one we decide to use is; will the plastic be able to handle a full drink, and will the mounts be able to hold the assembly with the drink

i actually have a good one that i just discovered today while working on my bosses car
rx300 has a center arm rest cup holder that fits 2 cups, its a pop open one and is super shallow because of it, you should be able to integrate it into the fc's center arm rest and still have the storage bin functional though i cant say how comfortable it would be with two cups there since you cant use the arm rest anymore sacrifices sacrifices ill take pics when i go back to work on monday

I sat in a Saab at the auto show for 15 minutes, playing with those cup holders... I freaking love them, and even though they have a odd design the execution is still quite smooth... now that I know where to get them, I might have to incorporate them into my car.... J.

I have no read this thread, just saw it, but some of the most compact cupholders in an OEM are from Saab and VW.
The vertical mounting of the Saab holder is probably ideal for going beside the radio.... Those ones are Saab 9-5....2005ish. |

I remember TT saying something about the Audi A4 cup holders.
I know you said you didn't want to get rid of the vents, but you could just do one side not both. I see these on Ebay all the time. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1996-...ts_Accessories

I dont know about you guys but these have always been my favourite cup holders(see below).
But no one has commented on the idea I have had for a while so it might still be original. My plan was to use the already present storage space on the door panel but to cut out a portion at one of the ends and put in a square type cup(see below) holder and box it in. Then take a piece of the material from a donor car and glue it on so it looks stock. |

That could work, but that one time you forget to take the beverage (or your passenger) and open and close the door, your car will have a nice (insert whatever beverage you were drinking *smell* and possible stickiness) other then that, I say its a great idea... someone just needs to do it :P J.

Yeah, it won't be me. If got those shitty custom fiberglass door panels. I like the snab ones, and the audi ones that rotordad posted I was looking at getting and mounting in just that fashion.
The snab ones would be tougher and have to be mounted on the drivers side only because of my GPS..... meh, I'll get it done, but seeing as how I have a housing at the machine shop right now, I've got bigger projects

What about this pop-up holder listed farther down the page of Saab parts.
http://www.saabusaparts.com/catalog/...b1vsam533lgck2 Click down, click up. Might be nice and discrete molded into (or next to) the center console. |
