I have spoken to a few people who have used built in 2-steps, not many people have been happy with it.

Your much better off using MSD 2 step. It's cheap and proven. And there's zero chance of you messing something up. It does all the hard work for you. The only thing you do is choose an RPM...

If you're still running the stock ignition system, you'll need THREE of them.
One for each channel:
1) both leadings
2) Trailing, front
3) Trailing, rear

In that case, you need FOUR of them - one for each coil.

I am running the stock ignition but... You would only really need two of them for the leading. One for each coil. Then have 2 solenoids shut the trailing off completely when the 2-step is engaged. One solenoid for each coil.

I am only running one MSD 6al, and one 2-step module. With the solenoids shutting off the trailing when activated. This is how most people do it.
