Rearview mirror?
So, i was taking my headliner down yesterday(to get to the sunroof) and i had to remove the lights/rearview mirror to get to it. Now that i put it back on the rearview mirror part is extremely loose..... like if i tried to adjust the position of where the mirror is it would basically fall off. It wasnt always like this..... another thing i noticed, 2 little metal peices fell out from there but I have no idea where they came from. Did i mess something up while reinstalling? I can't drive the car when the rearview mirror is THAT loose.
Please someone help |

The rearview mirror is secured by a pair of "roll pins", I think.
Are you missing the rubber support piece that goes from the mirror support to the front windshield? That rubber part jams the rearview mirror to the glass to keep it from flopping around. -Ted |

Those roll pins, i found them on my floor after removing it. I didn't know where they went to; where do they slide in to hold it?

I'm pretty sure it looks like a thin peice of metal thats bent into a hollow cylinder with open ends. Thats what i'm ASSUMING the 2 peices i have look like. I wish i could send a picture but i don't have a decent enough camera at the moment

My crappy Paint graffiti shows the location of the two roll pins. Which are conveniently missing, and I only remember finding one of mine, looks like I have something else to grab next time I'm in a junk yard.

Do the pins go all the way across the area? I haven't messed with this stuff in so long I just can't remember. I'm really just trying to figure out if this is something we can pick up at a local parts store or is the Mazda only (or junk yard).

Whatever you might try to use will probably have to be the perfect size to keep it from falling out all the time as you try to reinstall the mirror. I think just about anything cylindrical that's the right diameter will work, whether it be wooden dowel, steel or aluminum tube, etc.
