New PowerFC EL-screen Commander GB, $299 shipped

Hey guys -

Apexi has FINALLY come out with a new version of the venerable PowerFC Commander. If you've suffered for years with the terrible screen that you can't read in the daytime and can barely read at night, now's the time to upgrade. The new Commander has a bright, modern EL screen with amber characters on a black background.

Here's a pic off Apexi's Japanese site with the new Commander -



It's the same size and function as the current Commander, just has the new EL screen and a light sensor so it can dim the screen at night.

Note - this is a replacement for the universal Commander. If your PFC has a serial number starting with FD3S4 (which most PFC's purchased in the last 5-8 years will) it will work. If you have the original PFC with the FD3S2 serial, it WILL NOT WORK. Sorry about that. If you're in doubt, just pull out your PFC and take a look.

This group buy is being done through Fighter's Garage here in Pensacola. Jimmy was nice enough to do the legwork with Apexi USA and get a group buy price going. I'm making nothing on the group buy, he's making just a small amount to cover costs.

The new Commander will be available in the US by the end of this month (May).

PRICING - the new Commander is $299 SHIPPED in the US, add $25 for shipping internationally.

Actually got about 5-6 guys on the GB now, some local guys here in Pensacola and guys on Chuck's PFC mailing list.

Dale, I emailed Jimmy yesterday but haven't heard anything back yet. Is he still the one we go to for these? I looked on their website but it might as well be down because they only have the fast reacting temp sensor on there for the FD.

I also told him I was told I could get it for $300, I forgot that was the GB price and I thought it was the normal price. Maybe he just blew me off because of that haha.

Don't waste your time with Fighters Garage. I paid in the group buy and never got mine then got no help from them since it was not insured and USPS is even more useless. Per the FL Dept of State, Fighters Garage went out of business in October 2010 - good riddens.

Buy from a reputable business like Rotary Performance/rx7.com, might cost a little more but they'll stand behind their business.

They sell them at RX7.com too? I know Banzai has them for $345, was told that this weekend.

Yes, they have not updated their website in years and have many other products not shown. RP is an authorized dealer for Apexi and Greddy so they can get anything from those two.

Guys, we're now dealing in the Apexi line as well. We just installed a PFC with one of the new commanders last week and it is a nice little change over the old style. We can do $335 shipped in the lower 48 on the new commanders.
