Default Curious very Curious

Hello, Today I purchased a 2004 rx8 w/16000 miles for 18,00 cash with extended warranty. I usually do my research before purchasing a car, anyhow I have been reading about this car and seems like nothing like problems from replacing the engine and flooding. Can anyone tell me what I am against and any other information. I do have 5 days left to take it back.

you'll want to have your clutch peddle bracket welded up, make sure that the dealer updated your starter (there was a service tech sheet about it), and get the Black Halo Racing upgraded coil packs, and maybe a little stronger battery. Between all that, you should never have to worry about flooding again.

blowing the engine is more to do with no maintaining the car properly. make sure to check your oil ever couple fill ups because rotary engines burn oil for lubrication like a 2 stroke. You also may want to look into information on premixing ( i don't know off hand how much per gallon of gas of 2 stroke oil).

It's a great car, enjoy it!

I'm with Phil.

What noise? Mine is quiet as my Volvo on the highway, and nearly as quiet on bumps in town. Have you checked your swap bar endlinks? I bet you have a broken one.

the stock coils are prone to failure, and generally aren't strong enough to crank the car if there's a little too much fuel in the housings. The BHR coils have a stronger spark, so you'll never have to worry about flooding, or "pop reving" the car when you shut it off.

Flooding generally refers to excess fuel in the combustion chamber (in regard to cars).

congratulations on the new buy!
i agree with the above. upgrade the coils. to avoid flooding, just make sure you warm the car up properly. to make the engine last longer, take care of it.
also, dont forget to enjoy your car.
