New Member from Cinci!
Well I finally got around to registering. I'm relatively new to RX-7's but not new to Mazda (long time member on www.mazdas247.com). My previous car was a turbocharged Protege5. I got fed up with FWD and decided the RX-7 was for me. Picked up this '89 GXL back in June and haven't looked back. So far I've fixed the wiper switch, replaced a bunch of cracked and broken interior panels and done all the basic maintenance stuff. As for plans, I currently have delusions of a bridgeported 4-port 13B with RX-8 rotors, ITB's and all the lightweight stuff. Did the turbo thing with the last vehicle and I want to do something different this time. Anyhow, here are two slightly old pictures.
Just in case anyone is wondering, the wipers are now in their correct positions and the red blades have been replaced with regular black ones. I'll get around to some new pictures... |

The quest for more torque

Awesome! Another NA guy!
Hey you should join in the tech discussions here and there. I have big plans for this winter which you may be interested in. Maybe you could do the semi-PP that Gravity Fed and I have discussed.

I've given it thought but the idea of joining yet more forums makes my head spin. I think I've seen a grand total of 4 RX-7's in SW Ohio since I've lived here though!

Either way, it'll be a little bit before I start tearing apart the engine - I'm focusing on the suspension and restoration for the time being. Not to mention I need to get my hands on a TII motorand some RX-8 rotating bits. You can be sure I'll be following the N/A threads though. |

Thank ya. It's not perfect - several dings, a spot of rust on the sunroof, 20 year-old blaze red paint and a misaligned headlight (anyone know how to to fix this?) but those will hopefully be fixed before too long. I've replaced probably 50% of the interior panels with new as the old ones were cracked/missing. I really hate the current wheels and the yellow caliper paint but I can't really do anything about that until spring. I've got some 16x8 +32 Enkei RPF1's sitting in the garage just begging for tires but I need a few more suspension bits before those can go on and some black caliper paint in the garage for when temperatures warm back up.
