Auto s5 belts to manual s4 belts
Whats your option on this swap ? I know its all factory equipment. I my auto belts work and everything I just not into them. I like the manual feeling. I have a blue set with the full interior from a S4. Now my friend has a pair of manual s5 belts from a vert that are black. So what your take blue or black manual belts ?

TAKE THE BLACK!!! If you don't then pick them up FOR me and I'll pay you when I see you this weekend.
Seriously, manual belts are the way to go, no motors, no getting stuck, no cables getting pulled and no dealing with Mazda if belts break and they don't wanna fix it.

The quest for more torque
|
Manual belts are far better (lower center of gravity too without all that weight hanging over your head...) I think Mazda did the auto belts to make unsuspecting drivers think that they were about to be decapitated by the belts (I feel like that every time I get in my '91).
Actually I think they did it to keep from having to install air bags (some passive restraint requirement or something). What color is your interior? If it is blue, stick with blue, if black, how will you replace the "A" pillar trim?

my interior is black but my seats have faded to blue or they orginally blue its hard to tell. I got the pair of s4 a-pillars + interior paint thats black + time and energy = black interior a - pilliars.

As long as Mazda keeps fixing them for free for me I'll stay with the auto belts on the turbo. I am curious how you'll mount them in the car, not that familiar with the S4 coupe interior. I do know my Vert belt is always in the way since it never retracts like it's suppose to when you loosen or undo it, guess I should fix that.

^^^Because a harness without a HANS type device is asking for a cranial injury like Earhardt's. Same rational for having full cages in street cars. Not a good idea.
I swapped the FC over to manual and all it took was time, interior paint and about 15 bucks for all the trim panels, belts and hardware from Pull apart. |
