Fuel pump failure and a story of my life.
Hey folks i have a 91 n/a s5.
In san Jose my fuel pump dies... and the local member has a s4... so we put the s4 pump in my s5... surprising the car ran, a bit ruff at first but ok, now I can get home. Which is about 40 miles away... idrove about 50- 55 mph on the highway... the question is Do you think I've harmed my motor in anyway running with a S4 fuel pump? the check engine light popped up but disappeared when i let off the throttle.. ahhhh.. man that was a trip...

Nope, they are basically the same thing.
The output fittings are slightly different, but if you got it to work, then it's all good. -Ted |
