Default 2.5 STI motor in a rx-8

How do you guys feel about this?

Think about it. low weight distrubution. Small motor but very powerful

Transmission might be a tight fit

Seems pointless to me, performance-wise...forget the fact that it's a boinger in a rotary.....

Why not go 3 rotor? The rotary is already a small engine and with a 13BT or 20B you'll bring the 8 to life.

If you're looking to be different then sure, why not...It has not been seen before and it's always cool to have something different.......if you're looking to liven up your 8 the go with a 3 rotor...seems like less of a hassle.

Because a STI block has alot of potential.

It can make WAY more power then a 13BT

Why not go 13B-RE or REW? 700-800hp 2-rotors are not unheard of? Or it you really want power, just go LSx with boost

I wouldnt imagine the 2.5 would be better than an RE/REW... both can make 500+ whp... how much more do you want?

There is a guy in Canada doing REW swaps into an 8 for $15K turn-key. I'd imagine you could do it for under $10k if you do the work yourself and spend the other $5k on performance mods and you'd have a hell of a machine...

The earlier 13Bs are just as capable of 500+ hp....I don't advocate boinger swaps, but like 85gsl mentioned for rearded power go LSX instead of the flat-four.

FWIW, there was an STI with an REW in it floating around the aftermarket.

This could be the retaliation build

Actually that engine would be better suited in a VW bus.

Trust me!
