Default Super Rare Old Skool Parts

So lately i have become obsessed with older unheard of or special option parts. i guess that is what you would call them. I recently read about the 1990 afini rx7 and how it had opitons like

Door Leg Pad
Passenge leg rest
bbs mesh wheels with infinity emblem center cap.

also not native to rx7 but parts like

auto retractible mirrors
heads up display on the windsheild

Buddy of mine also said there was a option on the s13's for (i guess for lack of better term you would call it a jdm curb feeler.) he said it was a light on your bumper that shined on the curb and you could see how close you got by the intensity of the light i guess? dosent sound very usefull but it is kinda cool.

IDK bottom line just seeing if anyone has anymore links on any of these or if anyone knows of any other cool non mainline parts.

well for Rx7s there are done of random things, mostly based on market sold. So they might be the norm for say the UK, but for US its an oddity.

For the FC:
1. digital climate control was offered
2. 4.30 gears standard for NA models in UK
3. The silly passenger foot bar from Inifini models
4. Headlight squirters
5. Outside air venting (like the FB had). Something i had no idea why they did not offer in the US on the FC
6. Tan interior option for the Verts in Japan
7. Fender markers for turn signals in UK
8. Window blockers for the side windows.

There were also some oddball color options that are rare like Shade Green and Claret Mica. Claret was 1988 only and its too common.

that is all i can think of off the top of my head.

Back seats!! They are totally useless, but pretty uncommon.

"bubble" front side markers
FTP's with "city lights"
Clear Zenki FC front turn signals
Rear "blank" side markers - US-spec FC's have lights / lenses back there
Euro-spec tail lamps + center garnish
vent visors for the side windows

OP, those auto retractible mirrors you speak of...I'm not sure how "auto" you're talking about, but almost all cars in Japan have mirrors that pull in at the press of a button. It's rare in the US, but in Japan it's quite common.

I would imagine the FCs in Japan DO have them. Might want to talk to someone over there about getting you some. Of course you'll also have to run some wiring to make it work, but it's worth it haha. That's one of the little things I miss from living there.

it's probably not rare but, my 87 base didn't have the bins. it had thin pieces of wood covering the holes. the carpet covered everthing.

Mine had 1 bin and 1 carpet covered area with the shitty wood cover. I switched it out for two bins...

Yup, they do. Don't have pics to prove but I've seen them on the cars in Japan.

The aluminium undertray is also an appparent rarity, although I've seen them go on sale slow and cheap before.
