Default Possibly My New Track Car :D

Well, I picked this up from Big Al and Rob20x7's friend. Not sure what I'm going to do with it. I'll have to wait until I get home to make the final decision. I might part it out and make some money, might put a rotary back in it, or I might just finish the LS1. One thing is for sure, I need to sell some cars once I get home. I have way too many that have been "too good of a deal to pass up". I'm really considering keeping it and making it my new track car as it has a very very nice cage in it. I'm very big on safety stuff for track purposes. A couple of weeks ago a guy in an S2000 was killed at Summit(I think... might of been Watkins Glen) when he had a brake malfunction and smashed into the wall. Given we could die at anytime for any reason, the safer the better. Enough about that. I'll post better pictures later. Here is the skinny:

hinson super cars v8 conversion pacakge
subframe
transmission brace
torque arm
drive shift

ls1 v8 fully rebulit 0 miles
t56 transmission
stop tech st 40 big brake kit
atl fuel cell
magnum racin seat
tein flex coilovers
tein edfc unit for flex coilovers
sparco quick release steering system
seibon carbon hood
front bumper
tilton pedal assembly
remote cable ajuster
front and rear sway bar (racing beat)
full race cage
painted car new but does have some scatches
hinson radiator (premium)
hinson headers
ls1 harness w/switch panel

Wow Brent, you are to FD's what I am to all Mazda's. I can't stop bringing them home!! If you want to sell one, say this upcoming summer, hit me up. Unfortunately, I can see you selling the red FD the cheapest, and I am not a fan of red!!!

Are you going to make it to DGRR this year???

I don't know if I'll ever sell the red one. She was the first one I ever bought back in 2000. She is getting a full OEM 99spec front, OEM Sideskirts, an RE-A "other" diffuser, and some other things once I get home Actually, I really don't know what I'm going to do. The MB one just rides so well, has relatively low miles, and everything works(AC, etc...). And this is why I need a support group... Hello, my name is Brent and I am a FDaholic.

I will still be deployed for DGRR 09 as well. Hopefully 2010 though!

I would love the silver one. She is a sexy beast! I am sorry I missed you last time you were in town. I was incredibly busy. The next time you are back we definitely need to get some food!!

Are you going to keep this one yellow? It doesn't look like CYM. Is it?

If someone put an LS into a CYM R1 it would make me cry.

I agree w/ Dan. If you want a track rat, that looks like a nice acquisition. With that full cage for safety and as much as I like rotarys, the LS1 would be hard to beat for its reliability and power on a track.

I'm 99.9% positive that it's not CYM. Not sure just yet what I'm going to do with it. We'll def. get together and get some food when I get home. Maybe you could bring the turbo miata out and have a miata/RX7 get together. Brian, Chad, and whoever else could bring their Miata's out. I was very suprised how fast those turbo Miata's are!!

Sell it to you cheap I'm trying to give David Jerome a run for his money... haha. Yeah, I'm leaning more towards finishing it. May need to send this one your way so I don't have to waste any track time when I get home.

That's pretty much my take on it as well. I generally despise yellow cars. The one exception to that rule is a track car... which I think should be a little flamboyant. If I would of painted it, it wouldn't be yellow... but I'm good with the color

Yeah, that's what I'm leaning towards

I agree completely. The previous owner spent ~$4000 on the cage. It was done right, which was a big selling point for me. Not having to constantly worry about the rotary would be nice... not to mention I was born and raised on 350 chevy's. My dad may have this running and terrorizing the track before I ever get home.... haha. He has always tried to get me to do this conversion in the past whenever I have an engine out of an FD.

First off, we don't shoot video and post them (don't want any evidence out there) . Second, it would be closer to 150 mph for "Proper" engine break in for an LS1.
