Default How do RX-8s do in the snow?

Just wondering if any of you guys use an RX-8 as a daily driver in the winter, and how it does?

You remember that great blizzard we had back in December? Yeah, for every 1 foot forward I went 4 feet right. I'm on the stock summer high performance tires though.

You'll need to get snow tires or a snow chain equivalent or at least all-season tires if you want to drive in that weather.

However, that blizzard was the only snow that's caused me any real problems so far. (I got snowed in and didn't have time to shovel out because I didn't think I'd need the car for the weekend last weekend. Once I'd packed the snow in nicely beneath my tires it became quicker to get towed out of my spot.)

If you have a FB or FC, I'd be using that in the snow constantly instead. The Rx8 was the worst car I have ever driven in the snow, period. I am on summer high performance tires as well, but all it took was just enough to coat the road and you were not going anywhere.

Like any car, put some good snow tires on the car and you'll be OK.

You don't take all season tires for the track. Don't use performance tires in the snow.
