fuel injectors??
I just bought fuel injectors and 3 of them look good but one of the doesnt have the filter/screen or whatever it is in it. there is supposed to be one in all of them right? Also I can only find two injectors up on top under the throttle body, where are the other 2?

i dont have any pics and i cant take any i put the two in already and havent tried starting it yet. Right on top of the injectors on the inside there is a little screen looking piece that is missing from the one. Im pretty sure its supposed to have one, it wouldnt make sense for it not to. I guess my real question is, is it dangerous like that or will it be ok

As already mentioned, you should have them cleaned and tested. The Injector Cleaning division of KGParts can be found here: http://injector-rehab.com/ It sounds as if you would rather do it yourself... so.. here you go: http://rotarycarclub.com/showthread.php?t=1233

Two injectors mounted on top of the Upper Intake Manifold, two mounted under it. They all should have filter baskets, O-rings, Grommets, and Pintle caps. Make sure you bought the correct injectors for your year and engine type, they are not all the same. If need be, you can pull a filter basket out of one of your injectors to put it in the old one but you'll have a really hard time getting it out without damaging it. I recommend sending them off to get professionally cleaned by KGParts. They are listed in the vendor section. It's cheap, they replace everything I just listed and they have a fast turn around time.

I did find the other two. also all injectors old and new have the same part # on the side.
If I can find injector cleaning kit or somewhere where i can get the filter basket that would be awesome. anyone have any ideas |

Be carefull. IIRC both the high and low Imp injectors show the same part # on the side. You can tell them apart by the connector. The High Imp injectors have an offset "key" and the low Imp have a centered key. Your 88 should have High imp. injectors. Also, I don't think you can get an "injector cleaning kit" although, I could be wrong. If you wanted to clean them yourself you would probably have to let them soak in a vat of carb cleaner or something overnight. Then you would be left trying to source the pintle caps, grommets, filter baskets, & O-rings. I would wind up costing you more to get the parts than it would if you sent them out to be cleaned. (I looked when I went through this)
