Calling all road race/time attackers
Its been years since I've had my FC on the track, but I'm gearing up to get my suspension overhauled while doing this current build and I plan on doing everything myself this go around (instead of just buying an off the shelf coilover)
My question is, what spring setup are you using? I'll be using the Koni sport inserts, but I'm stuck on what spring would work best. I completely understand that the spring rates will need to be adjusted depending on the track. I've used Eibach, Intrax and H&R before on other cars and have found Eibach to have the best travel, but the H&R's weighed a little less and were pretty comparable. I'm thinking of a 6" 2.5 ID spring for the front at 450lbs for starters (I dont want to start lower in the 300s as I've had this setup before and its not enough for me). Opinions? What setup are you currently using and do you find yourself NOT swapping out as often as others for track days? |

Sounds like a pretty good spring rate. What are you going to be running in the rear?
On my FD, I use a Tein HA's with a 10K front/8K rear( or ~500lb/400lb) spring rate. I will be running a .188 front sway bar at little talledega in October and have the .25 for harder corning to decrease body roll and keep the r compounds from hitting the fender liners on faster tracks. Howard Coleman has a great write up on suspension you should check out if you haven't already.

Yup - 400 was my rear choice for starters. I'm running the RB front sway and I haven't picked the rear sway bar yet - most of the events I ran I didn't need an upgraded rear for, but I would like to get into some higher speed circuits next year when all this is done.
I'll check out his write-up though... |

I do alot of road racing (auto X) and I chose to use Tanabe springs this year on my turbo FC swap.
I will back this up with the Tanabe sway bars too. |
