Another n00b.
First post here, but not new to the magical tumbling Doritos! I've had a few RX7's and have a penchant for stuffing rotaries in LBCs (Little British Cars). Currently have a 13BT powered Jensen Healey that's my track rat/HPDE/hillclimb/autocross etc car.

Welcome to the forum. I love the rotary/LBC combo.

There is a 1964 Triumph TR4 for sale here locally that makes me itch to do something similar to yours. I really need to quit looking at stuff and concentrate on my own projects. I'm starting to get as bad as AJ.

Thanks! It's been a lot of work but it's finally paying off. I swear that car just wanted to go sit under a tree and rust, it finally came around to my way of thinking.
A straight axle TR4 would make a good swap candidate, the IRS version is OK but the rear camber and toe change would make it less stable at high speed. An RX2 or RX3 rear axle is narrow enough to fit under most LBC's and Miata/RX7 diff stuff plugs right in, my car has an RX2 housing and a 4:30 Miata r&p with a 2nd gen clutch type limited slip. I also used Miata front steering knuckles and brakes, had a machine shop redrill the rear axles for 4x100 bolt circle. Last edited by jensenator; 06-21-2014 at 06:55 AM.. |

Nice piece! Now that you've persuaded it to cooperate you'll have to keep a close eye on it to make sure it knows that the upoer part of the roll cage is always supposed to be pointing up

OK. you talked me into it (you bastage. ). Bought a candidate for a future NA rotary swap once I'm able to get all the PO's shoddy horseshit taken care of and the SA more or less done that is.
