Rotary from REUNION island
Hello all of you,
my name is Jimmy, i'm 42, french (nobody's perfect...) and live in Reunion , little and shiny island in Indian Ocean, some where east of Madagascar. i'm fanatic of Mazda and own yet a 1991 BRG Eunos Roadster (RHD MX-5), a 1992 323 GT and the last but not the least, last year i bought a 1979 RX-7 in Europe that i'm currently restoring. It is a sunbeam silver , german specs car. It was rather in correct condition, quite no rust and very fresh interior, but i prefered to make it correctly repainted. Done recently. Now i'm going to manage the engine and chassis issues. I really love it, despite i have not driven it yet ...i'm a very patient man ! http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=421423IMG0644.jpg] http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=270807DSCF3926.jpg] http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...5DSCF3932.jpg] http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.ph...75IMG0683.jpg] Last edited by Jimmy; 10-07-2013 at 10:40 AM.. |

thanks !
i would like to have it the closest to the production car, that's why i keep the original color (i would have prefered the mach green , so nice!). I'm not seeking about performances, just for a nice car for cool sunday driving ... therefore, the car has received some modifications like an aftermarket muffler, but it's poor quality , so it will be replaced by the original part a red velvet on the seats instead the grey material , i don't dislike for 323, 4wd/turbocharged was also availabe, but mine is just 1.8L 140ps |

thanks for your comment, this week we just begin to restore the chassis of the car : take off the superficial rust from the exhaust, rear axle, tank, fuel pipes..., then apply a protection paint on the whole body underneath, and finally change all the shocks, links, arms and bushings. It shall take one month at least.
then another few weeks to complete the change of all main brake , transmission and engine service parts.. i would say next december. |

very nice! in December I plan on refreshing the interior of my RX7. I am going to change the interior to black. I will be ordering black carpet for the interior and the hatch area next week or so, and covering the doors in black vinyl and some other things. i look forward to finishing mine and sharing pictures with you

Very nice. The 79 SAs are really cool cars, but then I'm somewhat biased. Welcome to the site and make sure to keep us updated on your project.
