1985 Red GSL-SE, Columbia SC $1300
Year: 1985
Make: Mazda Model: RX-7 Price: $1300 Mileage: 405000 Color: Red Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing Location (US State/Canada/Int): SC This is a hard post but it's finally come time for me to let go of my 7. I'm moving and don't have a place to store it or work on it. The Good The interior is in fantastic shape. All carpet is clean and stain free. The seats are in fantastic shape. I just replaced the motor with one built with NOS rotor housings. It's got about 5 miles on it so far. Just got it started and drove around the block a few times. (I got these from the previous owner who practically bought out the parts department of an old mazda dealership.) Boiled and recoated the inside of the gas tank last year. Stainless steel oil cooler lines RB Cat Delete Pipe Fresh Transmission and Differential Fluid GM 105A Alternator The Bad The Paint is faded and the clear is bubbling in a few places. The starter just failed on it. I have several replacements and haven't had the time to get it off the ground to replace it The driver's side window motor isn't getting power It's leaking coolant from behind the water pump housing. Needs a new gasket. AC Compressor locked up on it, so I bought a replacement but haven't yet had time to install it. Also Comes with: 2 extra sets of wheels. (1 GSL-SE set and 1 4 lug FC set) 2 extra doors (white) a set of LE seats 3 starter motors reman AC Compressor a large assortment of various trim pieces assorted NOS items various other parts that I can't recall at the moment. (My basement is full of them.) Pictures |

400k's. Wowsers, that's great!
What kind of shape is the suspension in? Manual steering it looks like too, correct? Hows the slop? Who did the engine rebuild? Rust at all? Thanks, Derrick

Yeah it's PS. Only a little bit of play, about an inch each way.
The suspension is in good shape, according to the paperwork I've got from the previous owner it was replaced at about 340,000 miles. RotaryCrazy and I built the engine from NOS parts that the previous owner had. There's a spot of surface rust about the size of a silver dollar just behind the driver's door. but it's still solid there. The bins are still solid. |

If you didn't like what it looked like, then why did you buy it? If you were foolish enough to buy a car sight unseen, relying only on pictures in an internet ad, then may I suggest quietly chalking this up as a lesson learned rather than whining about it.

My minds tellin' me no...

No doubt. And if you paid half ($650?) for a 30 year old 400k mile GSL-SE, what were you expecting?

The car not match your pics and the extra parts you said you had you did not have. The mold was so bad on that car I practically had to junk it. But like you said, buyer beware. But it's all good, life is full of lessons to be learned.
