Check this out! A Do-It-Yourself Auto shop in Socal? For real?
Hey guys I just found this place called Your Dream Garage in Baldwin Park. It is a DIY Autoshop garage in LA. I was looking for something like this before to work on my track car so that after my track days at at willow springs I can do a complete check underneath the car. I think their rate is pretty reasonable with all the tools and shop equipments and a lift. Has anyone try it out yet?

eh ive seen plenty of posts that were spam, this doesnt strike me like spam. case in point no links and why too much work to look into the place without an address or phone etc.
so with that, it reminds me of the on base auto hobby shops the military has. depending on the rates, its probably not a bad gig. a lot of folks do not have access to things like that.

Yeah... they got one on the base in San Dog... like 2 bucks/hr for the lift, 2 bucks for air tools... etc.

That will depend on the base and its demographics. On just about every major military base in the US, there is an auto shop with lifts, tools, etc. available. I work at Aberdeen Proving Ground in MD, which these days has a larger population of civilians than active military, and they allow anyone with a CAC card (i.e., active & reserve mil, Army civilian workers and even DoD contractors) and military retirees to use the facility. The rates they charge are different though, depending on which category you're in - active duty military, reservists & retirees get the cheapest rates, DoD contractors pay the highest, and Army civilians are somewhere in the middle.

though for what it's worth the highest rates, are still cheaper than going your own impact tools, lift, etc (unless you own an FD)

True indeed. Since I live about 25 miles from APG, and since storage rates are kind of high there, I'll only use the facility when I know I can get the job done in the same day so I won't need to find someone to give me a ride home, and it's a job that having a lift & access to air tools makes the job a lot easier.
